Sigma Industrial Control and Sigma Elech Control (“we”, “our”, or “us”) explain here how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed. This replaces the older public policy where it still talked about a generic online shop account, a downloadable app, and payment-card storage that this website does not do.
This policy covers this website, contact and support enquiries sent from it, product information for APFC (power factor controllers), demand controllers, meters, and Sigma Cloud, and — when it is configured — the components shop at shop.sigmaic.com. The live company site remains www.sigmaic.com.
Cookies
We use cookies, small pieces of data stored by your browser, to remember things such as a login if one exists and to run the site. They are not essential for reading public pages. Most browsers can block cookies. If you block them, some parts of the site may not work, and you may have to sign in again. We do not put your name, phone, or email inside cookies.
Blocking and disabling cookies
You can block cookies in your browser. That can also block cookies the site needs, and it can clear saved preferences. Blocking a cookie does not always delete one that is already stored; use your browser’s help pages to delete cookies. The older policy also pointed at third-party ad opt-out pages. This website does not run those advertising tags.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregate statistics about how this website is used, so we can improve it. The analytics script is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie notice.
Cookies used:
- _ga and _ga_<container-id> — Google Analytics cookies that distinguish visitors and sessions.
- sigma_ic_consent — stores your Accept or Decline choice for 180 days.
Google signals and advertising personalisation are disabled. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
To opt out, choose Decline in the cookie notice, clear this site’s cookies to reset the choice, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What is personal data?
Personal data is information that relates to an identifiable person. A name, phone number, email address, city, company, and the contents of an enquiry are personal data. An IP address can be as well. The older policy listed GDPR ideas that still apply if you are in scope of that law: data should be used fairly and for a stated purpose, kept only as long as needed, and you can ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion.
The older policy also said we hold “all conversation and personal data for up to 6 years” and, after an account is deleted, “not longer than 60 days”, and that customers could self-serve their own customers’ data through an API. That described a different kind of product. We do not offer that API. We keep an enquiry, a support request, or a shop order record only while we need it to deal with you and for ordinary business records, and then we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
What we collect
On this website we collect what you type into a form:
- Name, phone, city, and company.
- What you need, and — if you are buying — the line (APFC, demand, meter, or cloud) and whether the bill pain is a PF penalty, demand, or both.
- If you ask for service: model, serial if you give it, and what is wrong. A photo is not uploaded here; it can be sent later.
- Technical data the server normally logs, such as IP address and browser type, and cookies described above.
We do not ask for a credit card on this website. If you later buy stocked components on the shop, that shop collects what its own checkout needs. When shop.sigmaic.com is configured, that shop is the Zoho Commerce store. It is not a checkout on this staging site.
How we use it
- To reply to a product enquiry or prepare a quote for APFC, demand, meters, or Sigma Cloud.
- To open and follow a support request.
- To run this website.
- If you use Sigma Cloud, to operate that service. The cloud app is linked from this site.
Sigma Cloud is at https://cloud.sigmaic.com unless the site administrator has set a different cloud address.
Do we share it?
We share enquiry details with people at Sigma who answer sales and service, and with providers who host this website or send email, only so they can do that work. Shop orders, when the shop is configured, are processed by that Zoho Commerce store. Sigma Cloud is operated as its own service.
The older policy said we may share information with advertisers, contest sponsors, and marketing partners, and that email addresses are used for Facebook audience ads. We do not do that from this website. We do not sell your enquiry.
We may disclose information if the law, a court, or a regulator requires it, or to protect someone’s safety. If the business is sold or reorganised, the enquiry records may pass to the successor, and they should follow this policy.
If you send a form, we use your phone and, if you have given an email elsewhere, that email to reply about the enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list from this form. The older policy’s line about unsolicited commercial email still stands: we do not send it. If a message you did ask for has an unsubscribe link, you can use it.
How long we keep it
We keep the lead only as long as we need it to handle the enquiry, quote, support request, or shop order, and for ordinary legal record-keeping. Hosting backups may keep a copy for a short while after that. We do not promise the old “60 days after you delete an account” timeline, because this website does not give you that kind of account.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to saved leads in WordPress is limited to site administrators. No security measure is perfect. Do not send card numbers or identity documents in the form. The older policy said card data is encrypted into a payment-gateway database and then not kept. That does not apply here, because this website does not collect card data.
Other countries
Sigma Industrial Control is based in India. Hosting for this website, the shop, or Sigma Cloud may sit outside India. By using the site you accept that your enquiry may be stored where those providers operate.
Updating or deleting your information
Write to sales@sigmaic.com and we will correct or delete the enquiry we can still find, subject to records we must keep. The older policy told people to cancel an online account. This website has no such account to cancel.
Personnel
If you apply for work or you are on the Sigma team, we use the details you give us for hiring and for running employment. That is separate from a customer enquiry.
Sale of the business and affiliates
If Sigma Industrial Control or Sigma Elech Control sells or transfers the business that this site relates to, the records can transfer with it. A company under the same control may see an enquiry in order to answer it, and should follow this policy. “Affiliate” here means a company that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with Sigma Industrial Control.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India. The older policy also mentioned Privacy Shield and the Swiss-US framework. Those are not the basis of this policy.
Your consent
Using the website, or sending a contact or support form, means you have read this policy. If you do not agree, do not send the form. Buying on the shop, when that shop is open, is also covered by the shop’s own checkout.
Links and third-party services
This policy covers this website. Links to www.sigmaic.com, shop.sigmaic.com, Sigma Cloud, or any other site leave this policy behind. Those sites have their own rules. We are not responsible for their content.
Payment details
Do not send payment-card numbers through this website. We do not store them here. Any card payment happens only inside a configured shop checkout, not on this staging site.
Changes
We may update this page when the site changes. The copy on this website is the one that applies to this website. The previous public policy was the page on www.sigmaic.com. Continued use of this website after a change means you accept the updated page.
